June 30, 2003

Arno L. Moeller, 68, of Lacey Street, Laceyville, died Monday at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock.

ETA will always remember Arnie…

God bless Arnie, by Tom Buehler

I don’t know when it happened. But for me, it happened. One day the sound of a train whistle became synonymous with Arnie Moeller, even driving with my children through Reading or Strassburg when I heard a train whistle I would think of Arnie. Sitting behind his post at almost any trade show I have ever been to, there was Arnie, looking as though he had seen it all at a hundred million trade shows before. He always looked somewhere between bored and content. Then he would get a childlike little gleam in his eye, and blow that wooden train whistle. He was a good man, who genuinely cared about people. Ever notice how Arnie would always pause for a minute after he asked you how you were doin’? He really cared to know. There will be more ETA meetings, more trade shows to come, but they will not be as colorful without Arnie Moeller blowing that whistle and smirking his clever little smile over there at booth 48.

The next time your schmoozing away at a trade show and you get a feeling that there is something missing. There is. It’s a faint little whistle across the room reminding us to “have fun with this stuff”.

God Bless Arnie Moeller.

We have a proven forum for you to get your sales message across to a large number of qualified travel agents. It is an extremely cost effective presentation format to deliver your sales message using the communication of your choice. It is a lower cost than conducting and producing your own seminars. We will also assist you at the presentation by collecting business cards from all attendees as part of your sales solicitation follow up.

Furthermore, your sponsorship provides you with a one year annual membership in the Eastern Travel Association (ETA). To complete the packaged program we will provide current mailing labels and a membership list for your future sales contacts.

It is our distinct pleasure to invite you to participate by being a sponsor. We are continuing with our dinner forum meetings to be held on the third full week of the month as follows:

Monday, Harrisburg Central Pennsylvania
Tuesday, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Area
Wednesday, Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton Area

As a sponsor you will receive at all three locations:

Before dinner you may conduct a mini-trade show. This time is designated to mingle with our travel agent members.

Immediately following dinner you may conduct a one-hour sales presentation at all three locations.

You will receive publicity in our monthly newsletters, emails and blasts fax to all members. In addition, your website address will be featured on our ETA website during your month of sponsorship.

The sponsorship includes the costs of a reception and dinner for $15.00 per attending member. Sponsorships maybe shared among suppliers with a common theme or destination. In this case we require one sponsor to coordinate the co-sponsors, program and billing for the evening. Primary sponsors are billed for sponsorship costs after the meetings take place and are responsible for collecting the monies of the other co-sponsor.

Please advise us of the number of participating people who will be attending. This will assist us with our final meal count obligations. Door prizes are welcomed and will be mentioned in the newsletter to help maximize attendance. “Only IATAN card holding member agents will be eligible for prizes except when sponsor indicates otherwise.”

Please feel free to fill out the Sponsorship form once you have compleated please print and enclosed the form with your deposit to guarantee sponsorship. As always, ETA officers and executive board members welcome your input and suggestions.
